How to Add Salt

Broadcast salt evenly around the pool perimeter with the pump running. Brush undissolved salt off the bottom. Allow 24 hours to fully dissolve before retesting.

South Florida Tip

Miami's rainy season (June–October) can drop salt levels fast — heavy rain dilutes the pool and we often flush water out to lower levels after storms. Running at 3,400 ppm gives you a buffer so the salt cell keeps working even after a big rain event.

Salt Level Too High?

If your salt level exceeds 4,000 ppm, partially drain the pool and refill with fresh water. Do not add more salt until levels drop below 3,600 ppm. Note: after heavy rain, levels often self-correct through natural dilution.
